From our floating photo hide, you are right at the center of the action, surrounded by black terns and other wetland birds. Here, you can photograph and film the birds up close, at eye level, in an environment where they move naturally and undisturbed.
The open sedge meadows and mudflats of Fläcksjön form a rich delta habitat teeming with fish and birds. The shallow water, wide-open spaces, and expansive horizon provide ideal conditions for nature photography, while the surrounding farmland offers a calm backdrop that enhances the experience, especially in the soft morning or evening light.
The constant calls of the black terns fill the air, creating an intense and lively atmosphere. Occasionally, a white-tailed eagle, western marsh harrier, or osprey may appear, and their hunting behavior provides dramatic and striking photographic opportunities. In the background, you can hear the haunting calls of the great bittern and the water rail, while small songbirds add their melodies along the shore – together creating a rich soundscape that mirrors the wetland’s biodiversity.
The floating hide is stable and positioned at the perfect camera height, allowing you to work methodically with composition, light, and bird behavior. A calm yet intense wildlife photography experience, where the close proximity to the black terns offers fantastic opportunities for both still photography and video.
