Iberian Lynx in Andalucia, January 2020

– Stefan “Oscar” Oscarsson, Nacka

…the Iberian lynx… just the name alone is enough to make any wildlife photographer’s mouth water! The fact that this species is extremely rare (around 150 individuals in 2012, but with a slowly, slowly growing population since then…) and found only on the Iberian Peninsula only increases the fascination even more…

To suddenly be given a very real opportunity not only to see this almost mythical cat, but also to have good chances of photographing it, came as a complete surprise when I learned that Wild Nature Photo Adventures was launching photography trips to Spain with the Iberian lynx in focus!

It was simply a matter of joining the maiden trip (January 2020), a bit of a “buying the pig in a poke” situation, but the feeling was still that nothing could go wrong…! And what a trip and what results it turned out to be! Fantastic experiences and images set in a beautiful Andalusian environment at its very best. In addition, accommodation with locally produced food and drink, nestled in the Andalusian greenery, made the departure day after a week feel slightly frustrating… you simply did not want to go home…

The trip could not have been arranged better in any way whatsoever…
