Behind the scenes – Mountain gorillas, chimpanzees & other exciting primates – Uganda January 2026

Uganda – the jewel of East Africa. This country is a true natural gem, with an extraordinary diversity of mammals, birds, reptiles, and insects. At the very top of the list for most visitors are the mountain gorillas and chimpanzees. On our journey in January 2026, we had wonderful encounters with these two iconic species, as well as nine other primate species and a wealth of fascinating birds such as the great blue turaco and the shoebill stork.
